Biography contributed by Claude McKelvey

When Albert Edward Woolard enlisted in 1901 in the 5th QIB and his photo was published with the rank and file in The Queenslander on 16 May 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as his father Mr W. Woolard. The Boer War Service Paybooks for the 5th QIB held by Qld State Archives also notes part of his pay was to be directed to his farher Mr. W. Woolard, Goodna. His funeral notice in The Courier Mail, 1 May 1902, notes he was the husband of Mrs M. A. Woolward, Windsor.

Albert Edward Woolard was born on 20 Mar 1882 in Queensland, a son to Walter Woolard and Jane Woolard (nee Young). He was living at Palmwoods when he married Mary Ann Wells on 10 Oct 1906 at Nambour, Qld, and they had one child.
