Biography contributed by Claude McKelvey

Full name Albert Henry Arthur Beaumont Worthington.

When Albert Henry Worthington enlisted in 1901 in the 5th QIB and his details were published in The Queenslander, 16 Mar 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as his mother M. E. Worthington, Heal Street, New Farm.

Albert Henry Arthur Beaumont Worthington was born on 25 Nov 1878 at Brisbane, a son to John Henry Worthington and Mary Elizabeth Worthington (nee Hardy). He married Mary Ellen Flanagan on 8 Jun 1904 in Queensland and they had 3 children.

When he passed in 1936 an obituray was published in The Evening News (Rockhampton) on 7 May 1936. It noted that he was born in Brisbane and educated at Brisbane Grammar School after which he took up work as a clerk in the A.S.U.N. Shipping Office in Brisbane. In his early twenties (probably after returning from the war) he relocated to Rockhampton to take up a position in the C.Q.M.E. office at Lakes Creek where he remained up until 3 weeks prior to his passing.
