Enlisted and served under alias Frederick Sydney Usher. On page 8 of his Attestation paper he sighed a Statuatory Declaration to that effect. Grave record has him recorded as Sydney John Usher
Son of George Thomas Usher and Ellen Usher nee Steer of Botany Road, Mascot, NSW.
On 12 February 1919 and using the name Frederick Sydney Usher he married Emily Catherall in the Liverpool Parish Church, England. Rev. H.S. Broadbetn officiated.
Commenced return to Australia on 9 August 1919 aboard HT Ceramic disembarking on 27 September 1919 at Melbourne.
