Son of Peter Heinrich Hass and Lissette Hass nee Lohmann of Bourke Street, Petersburg, SA.
Brother of Walter Theodroe Hass who was killed in action of 12 October 1917 while serving with the 48th Battalion and has no known grave, his name appears on Menin Gate, Ypres and Albert Fred Hass was killed in action on 20 September 1917 while serving with the 10th Battalion and has no known grave, his name appears on Menin Gate, Ypres
