Leonard was born at East Adelaide, South Australia to parents Henry William Lewis Wilson and Agnes (nee Price) Wilson.
He was one of at least 4 siblings.
Leonard enlisted on 9th March 1916 at Francis St Barracks, Perth and went into the 10th A.L.H.R. and transferred into the 3rd ANZAC Camel Battalion.
Married in 1916 at Harvey Western Australia to Lily Caroline nee Piercy.
He returned to Australia on board the Port Darwin and was discharged on 30th September 1918.
Both Leonard and his wife Caroline are buried at same cemetery.
