DEATH OF REV.
A. H. OSBORN
The death occurred at Bundaberg this morning of Rev. Arthur Harold Osborn. rector of Christ Cliurch there and Rural Dean of Wide Bay and Burnett. The deceased clergy man had been ailing for several months. He was the youngest son of the late Arch deacon E. C. Osborn, and was born at Kangaroo Point 56 years ago. He was educated at South port School and Keble College. Oxford, where he graduated M.A. His theological training was obtained at Ely Theological College, and he was ordained deacon in 1913 and priest in 1914. After a period of service in England he joined the Church Army there in 1918 and went to France as a chaplain with the Imperial Forces. In 1918 he joined the B.E.F. Returning to Queensland as a chaplain in the A.I.F., he became curate to his father at St. Andrew's, Lutwyche, and was appointed rector there when his father retired from that position in 1920. He was appointed rector of Christ Church, Bundaberg, in 1928, and had a most successful period of service there. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Cordelia Mary Jones, daughter of Canon Richard Jones and Mrs Jones, of Bangor Cathedral, Wales, also by three sons— Sergeant R. E. Osborn, RAAF, a prisoner of war' in Italy; Sub-Lieutenant J. E. S. Osborn, RAN; and Mr A. C. Osborn, who is in Bundaberg. The funeral will take place from Christ Church, Bundaberg, at 3 pm tomorrow.
