In 1984 Bernard Barton was awarded a life membership of the RSL While he was a member of the Yankalilla sub branch he served on the committee for one year. At Bordertown on the committee for 3 years 1970 to 72; president 1975-76; secretary 1978 to 1986 and Immediate Past President.
he was active in the cricket and football clubs at yankallilla prior to enlistment. In 1965 Bernard was appointed Group Scout Master Mundulla. Active member of the Mundulla Football Club 1955 to 83. he also served as president of the Bowling Club and was active in the sport from 1959 to 1983. Keen supporter and member of the Mundulla Sports Recreation Centre. Member of the Show society.
