JOHN PATRICK FERGUS CAMPBELL
Born at Dublin, Ireland.

Educated at Dollar Academy.

He boarded with the Classics Master and left in 1914. He emigrated to Australia.

Private Australian Infantry Base 65th Company Seymour Depot.

John stated on enlisting that his parents were both deceased.

He stated his next-of-kin as Miss E Baker, Albany Studio, Charing Cross, Glasgow,
Scotland.

16/07/1915  enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria

Described on enlisting as 19 years 4 months of age; 6' 1/4" tall; 12.4 lbs;
fair complexion; light blue eyes; fair hair; Church of England

16/07/1915  appointed to 65 Company, Training Depot, Seymour

10/08/1915  the 65th Company transferred to Bendigo (without John)

25/08/1915  Died of meningitis after two weeks’ illness at Mooroopna Hospital, Mooroopna, VIC
buried in:     Mooroopna Public Cemetery
                   Presbyterian Section; Row B; Grave 1090

His name is commemorated on:

- Dollar Episcopal Church
- Dollar Academy.
