World War 1 Service: Ethel enlisted as a Staff Nurse with the Australian Army Nursing Service on 12.6.1915 and embarked per 'Orsova' on 17.6.1915. She saw service in England and on the field in France and on 1.10.1918 was Promoted to Sister. Returned to Australia per "Ormonde" On Duty and on 2.4.1920 was discharged.
