Private Richard Albert Williams (Service No:W11602) enlisted in the ACMF on 29 July 1941 and served with 44th Infantry Battalion until Discharge on 15 May 1942.

Born in 1902 in Coolgardie WA, Richard was the eldest of eight children of Richard Walters Williams (b1870 at Pleasant Creek in Stawell, Victoria) and May Emma Maria Gilham (b1877 at Pleasant Creek, Stawell, Victoria). Richard Snr (Coach Proprietor) and May married in 1901 in Coolgardie WA where they settled before moving to Katanning, Wagin and then by 1916, to Perth where Richard was a Labourer. By 1925 the family was living at Jindong nr Busselton WA where Richard was a Settler. In the 1930s Richard was at Yilgarn nr Kalgoorlie working as a Prospector before retiring to Perth in the early 1940s. 

Richard started work in 1918 in Perth WA as a Junior Worker for WAGR and by 1925 was a Labourer in Busselton WA. He was a Farmer at Jindong nr Busselton when he enlisted in the ACMF in 1941 and lived there, working as a Farmer the rest of his life. In 1947 in Perth WA, Richard married Daphne Ellen Ivy Robinson (nee Curtis; b1917 in Perth, WA - Daphne was a Widow. Richard died in 1992 and Daphne in 2017.
