Biography contributed by Geoffrey Raebel

Les was a clever "farm boy made good". He took to his wireless operator training and became very technical hence his appointment as Radar Officer.  He had a long relationship with PNG and during his time with OTC set up a network of VHF radio relays allowing communications through the Highlands.
