VX128624 Aubrey Brown was one of nine Brown brothers who served during WW2, one of whom VX38587 Claud Brown, died in the Battle of the Muar Road, February 1942.
Aubrey served with 16 Small Ships Coy, RAE (AIF), part of Army Water Transport, which provided landing craft, water ambulances, supply barges etc in New Guinea & the SW Pacific.
Aubrey married VF397723 Pte Gladys Amy Warton (A.W.A.S) on 10th February 1945. He rehabilitated as a qualified Joiner, becoming a builder and later a building surveyor. Aubrey and Gladys raised two children. For many years Aubrey was the secretary of the Australian Water Transport Association(Vic) RAE (AIF).
