The Reverend Thomas George Danks Trueman served with the YMCA, attached to the 5th Battalion Australian Infantry. He was the only son of Clara and (the late) Thomas Trueman of 'Te Whare' Milton Street, Canterbury. He was killed in his sleep by shellfire at Dranoutre, Belgium on 22 March 1918, aged 30.
