Ronald was born 11th May 1918, and prior to the war he was a clerk of Hollywood WA, and had served 2 years in the Militia 16th Bn. He served in the war with the 2nd/16th Inf Bn rising to the rank of Captain, and had been awarded the Military Cross and bar (awarded twice) for his actions.
