George Albert Dobner emigrated to Australia from England shortly before WW2. He signed up to serve in the Australian 2nd AIF while residing in Leederville, Western Australia & later became good mates with fellow 2nd/4th Anti Malaria Control Unit member Tom Beazley during their service together in the Middle East (Palestine, Syria & Lebanon).
