Eric was the third of four children of James Scott (b1865 in Winchelsea, Victoria) and Ann Elizabeth Gardner (b1866 in Echuca, Victoria). James had moved to Coolgardie shortly after the discovery of gold (1892) and he and Ann married in Fremantle WA in 1896. The couple settled in Kellerberrin WA where James worked on the Railways (WAGR - Ganger) and as a Bridge Builder. He selected land abutting the railway line and township and established the residential Restdown Estate as well as the family farm Rocklands Farm. Shortly after James' death in 1933 Rocklands Farm was resumed by WAGR.
Eric joined the Commercial Bank as a Clerk and worked in Kalgoorlie (1925) and Perth (1931). In 1934 he married Constance Barbara (b1911) and transferred to Geraldton as Bank Manager. Eric was in Mullewa, WA in April 1942 when he enlisted in the ACMF. He was a Private (Service No:W71977) attached to 7 Geraldton Battalion when he was Discharged in August 1943.
Eric and Constance lived in Pingelly and Donnybrook before settling in Perth - Eric was a Bank Manager. Constance died in 1984 and Eric in 1991.
