He was 23 and the son of Margaret Mewburn, of Boorowa, New South Wales, and the late John Mewburn.

His brother also fell and is commemorated on the same Menin Gate panel.

He was Private Earl Roland Mewburn-Service Number 2693-Died 26/09/1917-aged 20-55th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F
