Private Waiter Poulter (2403) was born in London on the 27th July, 1887, and was educated in London. He enlisted on the 12th November, 1914, and embarked for Egypt on the 7th February, 1915. He took part in the landing at Gallipoli, and was afterwards transferred to the 4th Field Ambulance. He was wounded on the 21st August, and was also shell-shocked. He was invalided to England, where he was passed as medically unfit, and boarded for Australia. He was sent to France as a stretcher-bearer attached to the 3rd Field Ambulance. He was wounded again at Flers in November, 1916, and was invalided to England suffering from the effects of the wound and also from shell-shock. He returned to Australia, on the 26th December, 1917, and received his discharge on the 20th June, 1918.
