Private Walter Joseph Brook was born in London, England to Joseph & Eleanor Brook. He married Eliza Trotter and together they had 3 daughters. Private Brook worked as a Wharf Labourer before joining the A.I.F. to fight in World War I.
According to his military records on 2 Feb. 1916 he was assaulted by a group of civilians and passed away at his home from a cerebral haemorrhage at the age of 43. According to military records his death was ruled as being related to his time in the military. He is buried in Rookwood General Cemetery.
