Group Captain William Lloyd Brill O21977 (402933) enlisted in the RAAF on 11 November 1940 and finished WW2 as the Commanding Officer of 467 (Lancaster Bomber) Squadron RAAF

WW2 Honours and Gallantry: Companion of the Distinguished Service Order (DSO), Distinguished Flying Cross and bar (DFC & Bar)

Allocated service number 402933 - after 1948 he was allocated O21977 to replace his wartime number

Still serving in 1964 when he passed away in Canberra while posted to Department of Air (DEFAIR)

(NB: for personnel who continued serving post 1947 the WW2 Nominal Roll records their date of death as their discharge date)
