Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Second Lieutenant Alfred Eric Sandover, East Surrey Regiment, who has been awarded the Military Cross, is the son of Mr. Alfred Sandover, of Perth, WA and a nephew of Mr William Sandover of Richmond.  The award was made for conspicuous gallantry in command of a raiding party.  When discovered by the enemy, he ordered a withdrawal, and though wounded and exposed to heavy fire, he pulled a wounded corporal out of the wire, and aided by a private, carried him into safety.

Received Knighthood 1st January 1967 - Alfred Eric SANDOVER, Esq., M.C. For services to commerce and industry.
