Second Lieutenant Alfred Eric Sandover, East Surrey Regiment, who has been awarded the Military Cross, is the son of Mr. Alfred Sandover, of Perth, WA and a nephew of Mr William Sandover of Richmond. The award was made for conspicuous gallantry in command of a raiding party. When discovered by the enemy, he ordered a withdrawal, and though wounded and exposed to heavy fire, he pulled a wounded corporal out of the wire, and aided by a private, carried him into safety.
Received Knighthood 1st January 1967 - Alfred Eric SANDOVER, Esq., M.C. For services to commerce and industry.
