"Navigator/Bomber of Wagga Wagga, NSW. Born on September 20, 1915, at Harefield, NSW, he was educated at Wagga Wagga High School, and became a Superintendent at Vacuum Oil Company. He served in the army before joining the RAAF on July 19, 1941. He trained in Australia, and reached Britain in November, 1942.

The citation to his DFC, announced on June 6, 1944, when he was a Pilot Officer, referred to his having completed many successful operations against the enemy, in which he displayed high skill, fortitude and devotion to duty."
