Lena joined the WAAF on 15 Apr 1942 and reached the level of corporal, working in the aerial photography section. Her postings included Wagga Wagga, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane.

She was discharged 27 Apr 1945.

Her parents were Heinrich Albert ZWECK & Kate Regina ANDERSON who married in Albury in 1908

She married Gordon Thornton DOBSON in St Davids Church, Albury on 9th January, 1945
