19 Jan 1916: Wounded Lieutenant, Officer, Unspecified Indian Army Units, Gun shot wound to the lung, succumbing to injuries on 9th February 1916 on board a hospital ship one day out from Bombay. Lieutenant Moore went to Sandhurst and joined the British Army - Royal Irish Fusiliers as a Lieutenant and in 1912 transferred to the Indian Army - 62nd Punjabis

BRIAN FITZGERALD MOORE

Who died on 9th February 1916 from wounds sustained in Mesopotamia was the son of Mr. Fitzgerald Moore. He was born in 1887 and
entered the Melbourne Grammar Preparatory School in 1896 and came up to the Melbourne Grammar Senior School in 1900. After leaving School in 1903 he went to England and was at Bedford Grammar School. He went on to Sandhurst and joined the British Army in 1907 as Lieutenant in the Royal Irish Fusiliers. He was transferred in 1912 to the Indian Army, and was Lieutenant in the 62nd Punjabis. He did splendid work in Mesopotamia until he was shot through the left lung. He lived for three weeks, but died on a hospital ship a day out from Bombay.
