Walter Manning Buckley (6 January 1914 Denmark, Western Australia - 2 July 1977 Gosnells, Western Australia) was the second child of Harold Vincent Buckley and Elsie Manning. The family settled in Gosnells in 1932, and by 1936 Walter was employed as a Clerk with the Perth Municipal Council.

Walter enlisted in the AMF on 15 December 1938 (Service No: W6696) as a Private with 11 Battalion.

On 14 October 1941, he was Seconded to 13th Reinforcements 2.32nd Battalion (Service No: WX17028) and served as a Lieutenant in the Middle East (7 November 1941 - 18 February 1943), New Guinea (7 August 1943 - 7 February 1944) and Borneo (26 April 1945 - 27 January 1946)

Lieutenant Buckley took his Discharge on 6 February 1946, and returned to Gosnells, Western Australia and his employment as Clerk with the Perth Municipal Council.
