Military Medal
'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the operations near LE VERQUIER on the 18th September, 1918. Organising a section Sergeant Boyce rushed a machine gun position which was holding up his platoon capturing the gun and killing two of the crew. On reaching the final objective Sergeant Boyce led a scouting patrol forward to ascertain the strength of the enemy in advance of the Right flank. At great personal risk Sergeant Boyce secured valuable information without loss to his party. His work throughout the operations showed tireless energy and set a fine example of courage and determination to the men of his platoon.'
