Leonard (Len) Walter Taylor was the fourth of six children of Ernest Gilbert Medlycott Talor (born in St leonards, New South Wales) and Amelia Harriet Gilman (born in Cavendish, Victoria), Ernest and Amelia married in Coolgardie, Western Australia in 1911.
Len was a Cycle Mechanic living in Perth, WA when he enlisted in the RAAF in 1944. He served as a Leading Aircraftman (Service No: 455022) with 10 Stores Depot and was Discharged in March 1946.
Len was living in Perth, WA and working as a Cycle Mechanic when he married Edna Mavis Cole in 1947. Len and Edna livied initially in Maylands, Perth WA and moved to South Perth in 1954, where Len continued to work as a Cycle Mechanic/Machinist until his death in 1994
