Edward, born in Carlston via Violet Town, Gowangardie in Victoria was the seventh of nine children of Samuel Wall (born in Colbinabbin, Victoria) and Sarah Ann Wall (born in Carlsruhe, Victoria). Older brothers Arthur Frederick and Ralph Leslie served in WWI
Edward lived with his wife Ivy Jane Ford in Violet Town, Gowangardie (Farmer) and in Shepparton, Victoria (Cartage Contractor) before enlisting in WWII
Edward and Ivy lived in Shepparton, Victoria following the war, where Edward was a Linesman until his death in 1964
