Eric, born in 1912 in Sydney NSW, was the eldest of two children of George Walsh (born in Lancashire, UK) and Florrie Cornell (born in Kyogle, NSW). George was a Railways Employee and Florrie a Book Binder. Younger brother Norman served witht he Australian Army in WWII.
Eric had worked as a Taxi Driver in Sydney, and married Olga Lucy Allen in 1938 in Marrickville, Sydney, NSW. Eric and Olga were living in Marrickville where Eric worked as an Assembler when he enlisted in the RAAF in 1944. Eric was a Leading Aircraftman (Service No: 161756) with 10 Repair and Salvage Unit in 1944/1945.
Eric and Olga continued to live in Marrickville, Sydney, NSW where Eric was an Assembler until his death in 1960
