Reginald was the youngest of five children of Frederick Charles Andrews (born 1867 in Brisbane, QLD) and Emma Day (born 1868 in Cambridge, England). 

Reginald was living in Toowoomba, QLD and working as a Motor Mechanic when he married Ethel May Greer (born 1899 in Brisbane, QLD) in 1923 in Brisbane, QLD. Reginald and Ethel were living in Toowoomba, QLD where Reginald worked as a Motor Mechanic when he enlisted in the Australian Army in Esk QLD. Reginaled was a Captain (Service No: QX35407) with 239 Light Detachment 59th Engineers in New Guinea - a front line workshop of 30 -  50 soldiers who kept the vehicles and equipment in motion. Reginald was Discharged in November 1945

Following the War, Reginald and Ethel lived in Toowoomba, QLD where Reginald was Service Manager until retiring to Caloundra, QLD in 1970
