Edward was the third of four children of George William Corne Bewsher (born 1882 in Albany, WA) and Ingerborg (Bella) Ann Andersen (born 1889 in Bunbury, WA). George was a Horse Trainer in Bunbury when he enlisted in the AIF in 1915, serving as a Private (Service No: 4757) with 51 Battalion. Edward and his siblings grew up in the Bunbury region of WA. Younger brother Gordon Reginald enlisted in the Navy in 1938 and served as a Stoker (Service No: 22506) until his Discharge in 1940. Gordon's wife Rosalie Olive Hughes, served in the RAAF as an Aircraftwoman (Service No: 99417). Brother in Law William Harold White served in the ACMF (W243683)

Edward worked as a Barman in Perth and was in the ACMF (Service No: W58138) when he enlisted in the Army in July 1942, He served in New Guiea and was Discharged in December 1945. Edward married Ursula (Margaret) Kathleen James (born 1905 in Fremantle WA) in 1939 in Perth. Ursula was a Tailoress.

Edward and Ursula lived in North Perth, WA and Edward continued working as a Barman until the mid 1950s when the family moved to Belmont in Perth. Edward worked as a Factory Hand and later as a Cleaner, He died in 1980 and Ursula in 1989
