Sergeant Angus McKenzie A11479 in Mustang A68-174 and Sergeant Mervin William Grevell A11441 in Mustang A68-134 were killed when their aircraft collided over Shell Harbour on the New South Wales coast during an interception exercise with RAN aircraft - although both pilots were seen to successfully bale out their bodies were not recovered
