Two pilots from 78 Wing RAAF were killed when their Vampire jet fighters crashed 15 miles north-east of Williamtown during a flying training exercise on the 13th of May 1951

Flying Officer Bruce Clarke Wilson O22128 was in Vampire A79-83

Sergeant Ivan John Booth A32165 (enlisted in 1947) was in Vampire A79-453
