Edward was the eldest of four children of Robert (Bert) Albert Edward Crosier (born 1893 in Natimuk, Victoria) and Myrtle Alice Risely (born 1896 in Maffra, Victoria). Bert, a Labourer in Lal Lal in Bendigo, Victoria, married Myrtle in 1918 in Traralgon, Victoria. Bert and Myrtle moved to Heyfield in Maffra, where Bert worked as a Labourer.

Edward was working as a Grocer and Telephone Attendant in 1939 when he enlisted - initially in the Militia - and in June 1940 transferred to the AMF (Infantry) where he was a Corporal (Service No: VX29220) with 19 RMT Coy, 6 Division Petrol Coy, 1 Australian Air Maintenance Coy in the Middle East (8/4/1941 - 7/8/1942), New Guinea (30/11/1942 - 23/4/1944) and SWPA (21/3/1945 - 8/11/1945). Brother Noel (Service No:VX105149) also served in WWII.

Following his Discharge in December 1945, Edward returned to Maffra in victoria and was working as a Grocer's Assistant in 1951 when he married Joyce Mildred Beare (born 1917 in Dandenong, Victoria). Joyce was a Typist in Sale before her marriage. 

Edward and Joyce settled in Bairnesdale, Victoria, where Edward was a Manager. Joyce died in 1993 and Edward in 2006.
