Son of James and Elizabeth Carter.
Captain W. A. R. Carter, of the 6th King's Own Lancaster Regiment, has been killed in action at Ypres. News was received by his brother, Captain F. (latter, R.N.R., of the E. and A. mail steamer Eastern, just before the liner sailed for Hong Kong and Japan yesterday. There are two other brothers at the front. Captain F. Carter himself has rendered service trooping while in charge of the Eastern.
