George was the third of five children of Ernest Alfred Jerrems (born 1878 in Sydney, NSW) and Esther Muriel Sassall (born 1885 in Lithgow, NSW). Ernest - a Paper Ruler - and Esther married in 1906 in Sydney, where they raised their family.
George worked in Sydney, NSW as a Carter and Produce Merchant, and in 1941 married Olga Phoebe Smith (born 1917 in Perth, WA). Olga was a Stenographer. George enlisted in the CMF in June 1941 and served as a Sapper (Service No:N170476) with 111th Anti Tank Regiment. He was Discharged in November 1945. Younger brother Ernest served with the ACMF (Private, Service No:N458400).
Returning to Sydney, NSW, George worked as a Refrigerator Mechanic and Engineer. Olga died in 1983 and George died in 1995.
