Dorothy was the only child of Francis (Frank) Bickford Moysey (born 1889 at Narre Warren in Victoria) and Lily May Hill (born (1888 in Melbourne, Victoria). Frank (a Contractor at Narre Warren) and Lily (a Book Binder in Melbourne) married in 1920 in Melbourne, Victoria and settled in Melbourne where Frank worked as a Press Hand.
Dorothy was working as a Clerk in Melbourne in 1943 when she enlisted in the Women's RAN Sevices as an Assistant Writer on HMAS Lonsdale. Dorothy was a Leading Writer attached to HMAS Lonsdale when she was Discharged in May 1946.
Returning to Melbourne, Dorothy was working as a Clerk in St Kilda in 1949 when she married Pearse Joseph Reynolds (born 1924 in Melbourne, Victoria). Pearse was a Salesman, and he and Dorothy settled in Melbourne. Dorothy died in 1974 and Pearse in 2000.
