MACPHERSON.— Killed in action, France, August 11, 1916, Lieutenant Ewen Fergus Lord Macpherson, aged 25 years, eldest son of Mrs. and Mr. E. F. Macpherson, Newry, 4 Manning street, Waverley, grandson of the late Randolph Machattie, Bathurst, and late Captain Ewen Macpherson, Vol. Artillery, Newcastle, and great-grandson of the late Lieutenant Colonel Ewen Macpherson, 99th Gordon Highlanders, and Hon. Francis Lord, of North Sydney.
LIEUT. E. F. L. MACPHERSON.
Lieutenant E F L Macpherson, RFA, son of Mr E F Macpherson, of Manning Road Waverley, and formerly Brewarrina, was killed on August 11. He was 25 years of age, and left Australia as a private. He took part in the landing, and was invalided to London, where he gained a commission in the Artillery. He spent about 18 weeks at Ypres, where he was killed. Two brothers are at the front, Driver R G Macpherson and Private J Macpherson. Lieutenant Mac pherson was a grandson of the late Mr Randolph Machattie of Bathurst, and of Captain Macpherson, of Newcastle, and a greatgrandson of the late Lieut-Colonel Macpherson, 99th Gordon Highlanders, and of the late Mr. Francis Lord, of North Sydney.
