History of going AWOL, family story is that on one occassion when he went AWOL, the heirarchy got his Sister Joyce who was in Aust. Womens Army to drive them to Scott's Creek looking for him as they didn't know how to get there. The Story goes the Roydon was sitting up on the hill watching proceedings.
He was a very good bike rider winning a few trophies over the years & also known to ride long distances to visit family.
