Hubert Hardy Fox was born at Timboon, near Curdies River, where his father was working at his aunt,  Ethel Webb Tallent's mine. On his Tallent uncle's death and the loss of the mine, his father, who was shearing and was twice made unfit for the army and his pregnant mother, May Lillian Fox moved to NSW.  Hubert's father, Robert Henry Fox, finally was accepted into 7th lighthorse regiment from June, NSW. 3776, RH Fox.
