Tom was the youngest of five children of James Alfred Titmarsh (born 1875 in Milora, QLD) and Frances Baines (nee Tuckett, born 1873 in Helidon, QLD). James - a Carter in Ipswich, QLD - married Frances in 1905. Frances had four children from her marriage to Ebenezer Baines. James and Frances settled in Ipswich, QLD where James was a Carter.

Tom was Farming with his older brother Alan at Ormiston in Cleveland, QLD when he married Beryl Marjorie Hocking (born 1914 in Hamilton, NSW) in 1936. He was a Farmer in 1941 when he enlisted in the RAAF. Tom was a Leading Aircraftman (Service No:25812) attached to 99 Squadron when he was Discharged in February 1946. Brother John Allan Titmarsh (Private, Service No:Q213147) served in the ACMF in WWII.

Following his Discharge, Tom and Beryl were at Sandgate, QLD where Tom was a Labourer before relocating to Sydney, NSW. Tom worked as a Process Worker in Sydney until the early 1970's, when he worked as a Lift Driver. Beryl died in 1956 and Tom died in 1975.
