Stan was the eldest of two children of Luke Westfall (born 1894 in London, England) and Caroline Lillian Moseley (born 1895 in London, England). Luke, a Plumber's Mate, married Caroline, a Waitress, in London in 1916. Luke was a Labourer in January 1923 when he immigrated to Brisbane, QLD on board the Moreton Bay. Caroline and Stan followed in August 1923, arriving in Melbourne, Victoria on board the Euripides. The family settled in Melbourne, Victoria where Luke worked as a Carpenter before moving to Perth, WA in the early 1940s. Following Caroline's death in 1959, Luke relocated to Traralgon, Victoria.
Stan was a Labourer in Claremont, WA when he enlisted in the RAAF in January 1941. He was a Corporal (Service No:29726) attached to 75 Operational Base Unit when he was Discharged in December 1946. Father-in-Law John (Jack) Curran (Private; Service No:V150) served in WWI and Brothers-in-Law Gordon Thomas Curran (Private; Service No:VX47360) and Kevin Stanley Curran (Lieutenant; Service No:VX47342) served in WWII.
In August 1946 Stan married Joyce Mary Curran (born 1926 at Traralgon, Gippsland, Victoria), and following his Discharge, Stan and Joyce settled at Traralgon. Stan worked as a Winch Driver for the SEC. Joyce died in 1978 and Stan in 1984.
