Peter was the fifth of seven children of George Henry Brennan (born 1892 at Karridale near Busselton, WA) and Mary Catherine Herlihy (born 1883 in Perth, WA). George (a Labourer) and Mary married in 1911 in Perth, WA. They lived in Busselton, Northam, and Perth where George worked for WA Railways (Sleeper Cutter, Shunter, Porter, Cleaner and Watchman).

In 1939, Peter had been married to Rubie for two years and was living in Perth when he enlisted in the RAAF (Aircraftman 1; Service No:210056). He was Discharged in October 1945. Peter's Father served in both Wars, three brothers and a brother-in-law served in WWII.

Peter and Rubie were Divorced and in 1947 in Perth Peter married Eva May Broad (born 1919 in Geraldton, WA) - Eva had also served in the RAAF (Aircraftwoman; Service No:99920). Peter and Eva lived at Mt Barker, where Peter worked as a Caterer then to Goomalling near Toodyay where he was a Manager. In the early 1960s the family moved to Bunbury, WA where Peter was a Barman. Eva died in 1992 and Peter in 2007.
