Arthur was the fifth of seven children of John White (born 1863 at Gwalla, WA) and Jane Grey (born 1868 in England). John and Jane married in 1888 in Northampton, WA. Both died when Arthur was a young child.
Arthur worked as a Farm Hand in Northam, WA and in February 1916 enlisted in the AIF as a Private (Service No:4918) but was Discharged (Medical) in June 1916. Brother George Nicholas (Private; Service No:6904) served in WWI.
Arthur moved to Wongan Hills, WA where he worked as a Farm Hand. In 1928 he married Mary Elizabeth Kerr (born 1906 in Northampton, WA) in Fremantle. Arthur and Mary moved to Perth and in 1942 Arthur was a Labourer when he enlisted in the ACMF (Private; Service No:W26752). He was attached to 26 Australian Works Coy when he was Discharged in October 1945. Son Alan Arthur (Private; Service No:WX22711) served in WWII.
Arthur worked as a Labourer in Perth, WA and died in 1953. Mary died in 1990.
