Enlisted with Australian Army (Militia) on 5th January, 1940 with 12th Field Bde, Royal Australian Artillery being allocated service number V51390 before transferring to AIF as VX57144.

On 28th September, 1942 transferred over to RANVR after being offerd commission as a Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant.

Demobilised 15th January, 1946
