He had a somewhat colourful life which included 2 convictions for assault as well as attending a Levee at St. James Palace!

His service career started with the Royal Australian Navy and he collected an Air Force Cross serving with the RAF

He was a Flying Officer before resigning his Commission in June 1941

Son of James Dagg, Police Constable, and Sarah Mary Anne Kirby.
Tattoos: Snake and anchor right forearm, snake and woman left forearm.
Deserted Royal Navy after 5 years c.1 July 1909. Granted free pardon.
Enlisted RAN 16 April 1914, No.4080. Seven postings, to 15 August 1916:
Cerberus(twice), Una, Fantome, Penguin(twice), and Psyche.
Discharged: 15 August 1916 to join Aviation School

It is a wonderful book. Unfortunately, the author died before completing his task, the book being published posthumously.

It goes on to describe Dagg's career up to 15 September, 1922.
