Son of Morris Zmood and Rachel Zmood nee Joel of Andreenka, Russia
Arrived at Port Melbourne from Russia on 2 January 1910 aboard SS Sedlitz where he lived mainly in Melbourne apart from about six months when he resided in Corowa, NSW. He was naturalised on 15 August 1914.
At the time of enlistment he was residing in Cootamunda, NSW
Next of kin was given as his sister Sophie Zmood of Station Street, North Carlton, Victoria.
Commenced return to Australia on 20 May 1919 aboard HT Nestor disembarking on 4 July 1919
