Robert's parents were Robert Kenman and Jane Tait Dickson. Robert Kenman selected land in the Laceys Creek area in 1879, his wife Jane was the post-mistress for Laceys Creek. Robert was the fifth of eight children. He married Barbara Fry at Brisbane in 1912.

Brother of John Dickson Kenman, David Merton Kenman, George Kenman, Isabella Keith Kenman, Jessie Gray Kenman and Charles Kenman who was killed in action on  the 23 July 1916 while serving with the 41st Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial

On 24 December 1912 Robert married Barbara Fry in QLD. Father of Robert William Kenman and Jessie Dardenella Kenman plus two other children

Commenced return to Australia on 21 December 1918 aboard SS Marmari disembarking at Melbourne on 14 February 1919 for  onward travel to Brisbane

Robert William Kenman, 26 was killed, and a brother and another man were seriously injured when two utility trucks collided near Traveston yesterday.
