Raymond Goulbourne TEESE was born in 1897 in Toolamba, Victoria

His parents were William John TEESE and Alice Eliza SNOWDON who married on 23rd August, 1893 in Wickcliffe, Victoria

He married Grace ROCHE on 30th March, 1914 & had two children, Stanley Richard & George Raymond  - divorced in 1917

He enlisted as  Private on 12th June, 1917 and embarked with the 5th Infantry Battalion, 25th Reinforcements on HMAT Themistocles on the 4th August, 1917

Raymond died from a shell wound on 19th April, 1918 in Coestre, France and is buried in Borre British Cemetery

Inscription reads:

"LOVED IN LIFE, HONOURED IN DEATH, CHERISHED IN MEMORY

 BY HIS DEAR ONES"

He was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal & his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial

Raymonds father William John TEESE  (SN1944) served in the 8th AASC and returned to Australia in 1916

His brother Norman Snowden TEESE (SN1954) served in the 1st Motor Transport Coy  & returned to Australia in 1918

His son Raymond George TEESE (SN V508653 & VX18388) served in WW2 and was discharged in 1943
