Great Sydney Central Station Honour Board
Keith Randolph GODBEE (Service Number 3165) was born at Seven Hills in 1895. He joined the Tramways as an ‘office lad’ in 1912, and in 1913 became a junior car cleaner, in October 1916 being promoted to car cleaner. The same month he was released from duty to enlist in the AIF at Sydney, stating his ‘trade or calling’ as ‘conductor’ when he did so.
He was wounded on 3 April 1918 when a shell landed on his billet near Villers-Bretonneux. He died of his wounds at a casualty clearing station on 5 April. He was buried in Picquiguy British Cemetery, 13km NW of Amiens.

He mbarked from Sydney aboard HMAT ‘Anchises’ on 24th January 1917. He landed in England in March. After training there he was sent to France and joined the 35th Battalion ‘in the field’. He was wounded on 3rd April 1918 when a shell landed on his billet near Villers-Bretonneux. He died of his wounds at a casualty clearing station on 5th April. He was buried in Picquiguy British Cemetery, 13km NW of Amiens.
